Sarah Wilmes RVTPractice Manager
Sarah is a 2003 graduate from Jefferson College where she earned her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She took and passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination the same year. After a few years away from school, Sarah went to Missouri Baptist University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2010. Sarah joined Arch Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician in May 2014 and transferred to Fischer Animal Hospital in June 2018 as the Practice Manager. Sarah lives in O'Fallon with her husband, 5 children, and 2 pets.
Dawn has been in the veterinary field for over a decade. She started her veterinary career as a kennel technician and worked her way up to receptionist as well as veterinary assisting. She is currently finishing her online certification as a Veterinary Assistant. She is a mother of 4, two being her fur babies, Julius Ceasar and June Carter Cash Money. Dawn is passionate about helping others. In her spare time, she volunteers by teaching women and youth self defense. Outside of the hospital, you can find Dawn at the gym or relaxing by the river with her family.
Cherlyn has been a part of the Fischer Animal Hospital team since December 2018. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2016. Cherlyn says she absolutely loves her job because 'who can have a bad day when working with dogs and cats everyday'. She enjoys helping pets be as healthy as possible and educating the clients on how to keep them healthy. Cherlyn is new to the St. Louis area. She moved here from Kansas City to be near her two grandsons. Their activities keep her and her husband busy. She loves sports, travel, singing, and being outdoors.
Kate PodorskiVeterinary Technician
Kate started to work in the medical field early on and quickly discovered how much she was interested in helping others, more specifically animals. She decided to go into the veterinary field and pursue her degree as a Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Hickey College in 2015 and started working at Fischer Animal Hospital shortly after. She has two Standard Poodles and is an avid St. Louis Blues fan.
Olivia NiedererVeterinary Technician
Olivia graduated Hickey College in May 2016 and started working at Fischer Animal Hospital a day later. She enjoys the challenges of being a veterinary technician and how much she can help the pets and their owners. At home, Olivia enjoys walking her German Shepherd mix, Wyatt, and her Weimaraner, Josey Wales, with her baby daughter. She can also be found at the barn with her paint pony, Queenie. Olivia loves getting to know our clients on a personal level.
Lindsey StefkoVeterinary Technician
Lindsey graduated from Midwest Institute with an Associate of Occupational Studies in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She started out as an intern at Fischer Animal Hospital but found it hard to leave the wonderful team here. Lindsey is excited to go to work everyday and is shown on a daily basis why she chose this career path.
Alexis RiceVeterinary Technician
Alexis joined our team in September of 2020. Originally from Virginia, she graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College St. Louis in September of 2017. Throughout Alexis’ short time in veterinary medicine she has worked with small, large, and exotic animals. She continues to study towards her goal of taking the Veterinary Technician National Exam and becoming registered. At home with her husband and daughter they enjoy time with their 3 dogs, 2 cats, ball python, snapping turtle, and assortment of fish. Alexis is so excited to have joined Fischer Animal Hospital and looks forward to meeting all of you and your wonderful pets
Katie Gifford RVTRegistered Veterinary Technician
Katie joined our team in November 2020. Born and raised in Wentzville, Katie graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in December of 2014. She took her education and experience further by becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician in Missouri in August of 2015. Katie has been around Veterinary Medicine since she was a freshman in high school and believes that she has found her passion in life. Although she has worked with small, large and exotic animals in her career, most of her knowledge is in small animal medicine. She has 2 dogs and 2 cats at home, and her ultimate dream would be to be a Veterinary Technician at a zoo someday. She looks forward to meeting your fur babies!
