Sarah Wilmes, RVT
Sarah is a 2003 graduate from Jefferson College where she earned her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She took and passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination the same year. After a few years away from school, Sarah went to Missouri Baptist University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2010. Sarah joined Arch Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician in May 2014 and transferred to Fischer Animal Hospital in June 2018 as the Practice Manager. Sarah lives in O'Fallon with her husband, 5 children, and 3 pets.
Dawn has been in the veterinary field for over a decade. She started her veterinary career as a kennel technician and worked her way up to receptionist as well as veterinary assisting. She is currently finishing her online certification as a Veterinary Assistant. She is a mother of 4, two being her fur babies, Julius Ceasar and June Carter Cash Money. Dawn is passionate about helping others. In her spare time, she volunteers by teaching women and youth self defense. Outside of the hospital, you can find Dawn at the gym or relaxing by the river with her family.
Cherlyn has been a part of the Fischer Animal Hospital team since December 2018. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2016. Cherlyn says she absolutely loves her job because 'who can have a bad day when working with dogs and cats everyday'. She enjoys helping pets be as healthy as possible and educating the clients on how to keep them healthy. Cherlyn is new to the St. Louis area. She moved here from Kansas City to be near her two grandsons. Their activities keep her and her husband busy. She loves sports, travel, singing, and being outdoors.
Liz joined the Fischer Animal Hospital team in March 2019. Her favorite part of being with this team is how fun everyone makes the work day. We are always laughing and making things fun. Her favorite part about the veterinary field is the fur babies and making sure the pet parents know they are getting the best care possible. Some fun facts about Liz are that she loves spending time with her fur babies, Rosie ad Myla, and she loves any animal-big or small. Going out with friends or family is something that you will always find Liz doing.
Kate started to work in the medical field early on and quickly discovered how much she was interested in helping others, more specifically animals. She decided to go into the veterinary field and pursue her degree as a Veterinary Technician. She graduated from Hickey College in 2015 and started working at Fischer Animal Hospital shortly after. She has two Standard Poodles and is an avid St. Louis Blues fan.
Olivia graduated Hickey College in May 2016 and started working at Fischer Animal Hospital a day later. She enjoys the challenges of being a veterinary technician and how much she can help the pets and their owners. At home, Olivia enjoys walking her German Shepherd mix, Wyatt, and her Weimaraner, Josey Wales, with her baby daughter. She can also be found at the barn with her paint pony, Queenie. Olivia loves getting to know our clients on a personal level.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Ashley has been working in this field since 2011 and received her registration as a Veterinary Technician in 2013. She worked in general practice for most of those years but 2 years were spent at Veterinary Specialty Services in the surgical department. She rescued a 2-yr old Beagle mix named Effie who loves to run and hates the rain. Through her years as a technician, she has been taught many tough lessons but ended up with a strength and passion to keep learning and to share everything she has gained.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Alicia started in the veterinary field in 2006. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2008. In 2013, along with her husband, Jacob, Alicia moved to Missouri. Alicia has experience in general practice, emergency, and specialty care and has her Class IV Cold Laser certification as well as being Fear Free Certified. She lives with her husband, her two dachshunds, Wilson and Henry, and her 2 fish, Bender and Flexo.
Lindsey graduated from Midwest Institute with an Associate of Occupational Studies in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She started out as an intern at Fischer Animal Hospital but found it hard to leave the wonderful team here. Lindsey is excited to go to work everyday and is shown on a daily basis why she chose this career path.
