Fischer Animal Hospital's Coronavirus Protocol
In this unprecedented and rapidly-changing time, our practice is doing everything we can to prevent the spread of disease while giving our patients and their families the very best care. Effective immediately, Fischer Animal Hospital has made the following changes and new service options:
For all appointments, please call the office once you park in the parking lot and call our office (636-240-7646). One of our staff will discuss any information needed while you stay in your car. This includes patient authorizations needed, post visit instructions, and any payments. Once all information has been relayed, we will have you place your pet into one of the kennels outside the front door and then return to your vehicle. Our technicians will remove your pet from the kennel and bring them inside for their examination. After the examination has been completed, our doctor will call you to discuss findings. After payment has been made, we will return your pet to a kennel with any home care items necessary. You may remove your pet from the kennel after our staff have returned inside the building.
For any medication pick up, please call the office once you arrive. After payment is made, we will place your medication, in a bag labeled with your name, outside our door for you to pick up.

End of Life Appointments
Saying goodbye to a pet at any time is difficult. During this pandemic, we are asking that you limit the number of people attending an end of life appointment to 1-2 people. We apologize for any heartache this may cause.
Cleaning & Additional Precautions at Fischer Animal Hospital
- While we have routine cleaning protocols in place, we will be doing additional cleaning multiple times per day. We are using cleaning agents that have been shown to kill the COVID-19 virus. We will also be performing a deeper clean at the end of every day.
- We will be refraining from any client interactions.
- While animals are not believed to transmit COVID-19, there are theories that they can carry the virus on their fur. For this reason, we will also be decreasing the petting and loving on your pets. This will be the hardest part for us!
- We ask that any person that is not feeling well or showing signs of COVID-19 to reschedule their appointment.
